FAQ

How is Synergy different to a mix of other equipment?

Synergy has been designed for education. The very first specification focussed on ease of use for any user of any ability.

That very simple ethos runs through the easy-to-use interface, touch-screen and the mixer.

This in turn means that Synergy can be a student-led project, Synergy can be found in primary schools, Synergy is the most popular radio broadcast system used in education.

It is for these reasons Synergy can be found in Primary schools through to Universities.

How is radio different to podcasting?

Its fun and its live!

Synergy combines the buzz of hearing what is produced with actually producing it.

Radio is interactive, live, on the button, learning whilst doing.

So Synergy has been designed the same way allowing students to produce instant results that don't require hours of editing.

Radio allows real-time creativity, planning and strategy. Making it unique in capturing those skills which will drive our students on in any situation.

How can Synergy be Broadcast in my school?

Synergy can be broadcast accross campus, infact that is the most fun being able to hear the work you have produced!

However with Synergy we understand the need to adapt and innovate so we have made it possible to use the standard methods of broadcasting and also a few next-gen methods.

Broadcasting round the school using a speaker system

This is the first and most accessible method of allowing the students to ‘tune-in’ for live-lunch and break-time programs. Social areas can be used for broadcasting using existing speakers or plasma screen audio.

Going live on the school Intranet

This requires access to the school network which then sends streaming audio to any PC across the school. This can be done with live or pre-recorded shows and allows the broadcast to be accessed in the classroom.

Internet broadcasting

This allows schools to broadcast to a global audience. This requires access to a streaming server (similar to the way a website is hosted) this will take the audio material generated from the school and allow anybody to listen via the web.  If you broadcast copyright music across the web you payments are required, however schools can avoid this by using copyright-free generated materials.
